Mob of Hindu far-right supporters stormed an event on Hindu nationalism in Montreal

In Montreal, Canada, a mob of over 70 Hindu far-right supporters stormed an event on “Hindutva Fascism and its impact on minorities.” They harassed, intimidated, and hurled insults at the participants, pulling the fire alarm three times to disrupt the event, which prompted firefighters to arrive and building security to call the police. The police ultimately escorted the mob out of the building.

Far right groups like Vishwa Hindu Parishad-Canada, Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA)-Canada and Canadian Organization for Hindu Heritage Education (COHHE) had earlier ran targeted campaign against the event and its organisers.

This violent incident took place on August 15.
