Rashtriya Bajrang Dal Leader Bulldozes Muslim Vendor’s Stall, Demands Name Change Based on Religion

Location: Faridabad, Haryana

Rashtriya Bajrang Dal leader and lawyer Deepak Azad vandalised a street food stall owned by a Muslim man, demanding that the name be changed to reflect the owner’s religious identity. The vendor stated that he had been running the stall for 20 years.

On May 9, with help from the administration, he used a bulldozer to dig a hole to prevent a Muslim street vendor from reopening his stall, which he had vandalised the previous day, demanding that the name be changed to reflect the owner’s religious identity.

On May 13, he demolished a Muslim street food vendor’s stall using a bulldozer. He had previously done so on May 8 and May 9. Vendors and others in the area stated that Deepak Azad had threatened to evict the vendor, saying he would not allow a Muslim to do business there.
