At the Trishul Deeksha event organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, a Bajrang Dal leader raised the issue of Kashi and Mathura; he spread conspiracies of ‘love jihad’ and ‘land jihad’ and declared, “We will take back all our 30,000 temples, not just Kashi and Mathura.” He said, “Indian Muslims should have gone to Pakistan,” and urged Hindus to stash weapons in their homes.
