BJP state president Dilip Saikia, speaking at an election rally, declared that they will start evicting suspected Pamua people, referring to Bengali-origin Muslim migrants, from the Bodoland Territorial Region, alleging they aim to encroach on and attack its land and culture. He clarified that he was only referring to them, not to those he termed “our people” or the 26 tribes living in the region.
