In Raghunathpur, Assam CM Sarma Boasts of Clearing ‘Ghuspaithiya’ Land and Says ‘Osamas’ Fall When Hindus Awaken

Location: Raghunathpur, Siwan, Bihar

Key themes from Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s campaign speech: “When I took office, officials told me that one lakh acres of land had been occupied by Bangladeshi infiltrators, whom we call ‘ghuspaithiyas.’ I asked them why they had allowed this occupation. They replied that they had no choice since it was during the Congress government’s tenure. I thought to myself—if I, as Chief Minister, cannot free this one lakh acres of land, I have no right to remain in office. Officials said it was impossible, but I told them that if Modi ji could build the Ram temple on the site of the Babri mosque, we too must prove ourselves by clearing this land. Many people died, and several cases were filed in court, but I managed to clear around fifty thousand acres of land from illegal ‘ghuspaithiyas.’ Then I realised that these ‘Osamas’ only seem powerful, but when Hindus awaken, no ‘Osama,’ ‘Aurangzeb,’ or ‘Babur’ can survive.”
