BJP MLA Balmukund Acharya, speaking at a religious event, invoked the slogan “Ayodhya is just a glimpse; Mathura and Kashi are still to come,” claiming that they were close to realising this goal. He boasted that “saffron had been planted on Babur’s chest,” and fearmongered over the non-Hindu population, referring to Muslims as “atankaayi” (terrorists).
