At the “Pre-Military Conference” organized by CRPF, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami claimed his government was defending Uttarakhand’s cultural identity and “planned demographic changes,” alleging that “Jihadis” were settling in hill regions posing as locals. He highlighted the implementation of stricter land laws and action against “land jihad,” claiming “reclamation” of over 10,000 acres of land from alleged “ghuspaithiyan (infiltrators)” and the demolition of over 500 “illegal” constructions. Dhami asserted that the government was acting to protect “sisters, daughters, and children” by taking measures against “love jihad,” “thook jihad,” describing them as a “deranged mentality,” along with stricter anti-conversion and anti-riot laws.
