In Junagadh, VHP Leader Blames Muslims for Oppression of Hindu Women

Location: Junagadh, Gujarat

At an event commemorating Tej Bahadur Singh organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, a senior Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader claimed Muslims are responsible for the poor condition of Hindu women, asserting that “wherever Muslims went, they oppressed women the most,” and blaming child marriage, veiling, and restrictions on women’s education on Muslims. He further claimed Islam increased casteism, alleging that Hindus who refused to convert were forced into caste-based sanitation labour and threatened with violence for not converting.
