A Delhi court has granted interim bail to Khalid Saifi, one of the accused in the larger conspiracy case related to the 2020 northeast Delhi riots. The relief was granted by Additional Sessions Judge Sameer Bajpai at the Karkardooma Courts.

The court allowed Saifi interim bail from April 15 to April 20 to attend wedding ceremonies in his family. According to his plea, the nikah and reception functions of his niece and nephew fall within this period, and his presence was considered important for these events.

While Saifi had sought a longer duration, the court limited the relief strictly to key ceremonies, noting that some pre-wedding rituals did not require his attendance.

Conditions Imposed by the Court

The court granted the relief subject to conditions. Saifi has been directed to furnish a personal bond of ₹20,000 with one surety of the same amount. He must remain within Delhi-NCR during this period, keep his mobile phone active, and share his number with the investigating officer.

He has also been instructed not to contact any prosecution witnesses or interact with the media while out on bail.
