In Kanpur, VHP Leader Warns of ‘Love Jihad’ and Religious Conversions

Location: Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh

At a Ram Utsav programme organised by the Vishva Hindu Parishad, Organising General Secretary Milind Parande questioned the declining Hindu population, contrasting “hum do hamare do” with “hum do hamara koi nahi,” and criticised live-in relationships. He alleged that forces are weakening Hindus by dividing them along caste, language, and sect lines. He peddled the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad,” calling it a major threat, invoking the Ramayana to claim “rakshasi tendencies” still exist, and alleging Hindu women are being kidnapped and trapped. He further alleged that states like Nagaland, Mizoram and Meghalaya have been converted to Christianity, and cited the Karbi community in Assam, claiming they are descendants of Lord Ram’s army and praising them for resisting conversion.
