In Biswanath, PM Modi Accuses Congress of Empowering ‘Infiltrators’

Location: Biswanath, Assam

During a rally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Indian National Congress of committing its “biggest sin” by integrating “ghuspaithiya” (infiltrators) into the mainstream, alleging it enabled them to settle and encroach on land for vote-bank politics. He claimed that in parts of Assam, Congress protected such alleged illegal encroachment and damaged forests, sanctuaries, and wildlife, alleging it “took away the rhino’s home” to benefit its vote bank, affecting tourism and livelihoods. He asserted that the BJP government has taken strict action to remove such encroachments, framing it as a campaign to protect Assam’s identity, traditions, and environment from “ghuspaithiya,” and accused Congress of supporting them. He claimed that a single vote would defeat “infiltrators and their motives,” and stated that the BJP is both clearing alleged illegal encroachments and providing land rights to “original inhabitants” through Mission Vasundhara, stating that over “23 lakh people” have received land ownership, which he described as “true justice.”
