BJP leader Nazia Elahi Khan has sparked controversy after allegedly urging Hindus to boycott Muslims in government and private sector employment for the next two to three years, drawing sharp criticism from opposition leaders and activists who described the remarks as discriminatory, divisive and unconstitutional.

Speaking at a press conference, Khan reportedly said that “Hindus should stay vigilant and should boycott Muslims from government sectors and private sectors” and called for a boycott of Muslims for at least “two to three years.”

Khan claimed that India was fighting not only Pakistan but also people within the country with a “Pakistani mentality” and alleged that various forms of “jihad” were being carried out in India. Citing alleged security concerns, she said, “120 crore Hindus need to become alert as soon as possible,” and called for Muslims to be “boycotted from everywhere,” including “private job, government job, private sector, government sector.”

She further argued that “for 2-3 years, it is very important to boycott Muslims,” while questioning the patriotism of Muslims whom she accused of placing “Islam first” and the Constitution later.

The remarks drew sharp criticism from opposition leaders and activists.

Responding to the statement, Congress Rajyasabha MP Syed Naseer Hussain said, “A BJP leader’s call, made during a press conference, to boycott Indian Muslims from government jobs, private employment, and public life is a blatant attack on the Constitution of India and the secular foundations of our republic.”
