Bajrang Dal Supporters Allegedly Threaten Muslim Meat Vendors in Kolkata’s Jadavpur.

By Muslim Mirror Desk

In a disturbing incident from Jadavpur, a prominent suburban area of Kolkata, members of Bajrang Dal have allegedly threatened Muslim vendors selling meat, asking them to either stop their business or relocate immediately. A video that has surfaced on social media shows a Bajrang Dal supporter issuing stern warnings in abusive and derogatory language.

“Why are you selling and slaughtering when a majority of Hindus reside here?” the man asks in the video, whose date and exact location of recording remain unclear. He further claimed that the “days of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) are over” and warned the vendors, “Stop selling halal. Leave this place at the earliest.” He suggested they move to areas like Mallikpur, which he described as having a larger Muslim population.

The incident has sparked concerns amid reports of a sharp rise in hate crimes against the Muslim community in West Bengal following the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) growing influence in the state. According to Siasat.com, at least 10 such incidents were reported in May alone.

The controversy intensified after BJP leader and Nandigram MLA Suvendu Adhikari publicly stated that he would focus on working for Hindus, who he said voted for him. “The Hindu people of Nandigram made me win again… I will work for the Hindus of Nandigram,” Adhikari reportedly told the media.

The video has triggered widespread condemnation and debate over communal tensions in the region.
