Hindu Beti Bachao Sangharsha Samiti organised a protest march against “love jihad” and submitted a memorandum at the SDM office. A speaker peddled the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad” as a conspiracy involving coercion, inducement, and “illegal” religious conversion, which they claimed threatens social order and security. They demanded the establishment of special police stations and district-level Special Intervention Units (SIUs), fast-track courts to resolve such cases within six months, and strict punishment for those involved, including those allegedly providing financial or fake document support. They alleged that gyms, salons, mehendi services, and massage centres, along with hookah bars and budget hotels are “hubs of love jihad,” and should be run only by women. Another speaker alleged that “jihadi” trap Hindu women and commit violence, warning that if their demands are not met, they would “do whatever necessary.” Participants also raised slogans including “one war against love jihad” and “be Durga, be Kali, never become burqewali.”
