At a Shri Ram Katha event, Sunil Kumar Sharma, Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister, urged attendees to never visit any “peer-mazar,” claiming that offerings made there, including money and clothes, go to those who slaughter cows. He asserted that such mazars house nothing but a sinner “Mulla” who had worked against society. He also claimed that there is an ongoing campaign in which “agents” are being deployed to encourage people to visit mazars.
