In Hooghly, Amit Shah Links Bengal’s Future to Removing ‘Infiltrators’

Location: Pursurah, Hooghly, West Bengal

Key themes from Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah’s campaign speech: “Do we want to make Bengal ‘ghuspaithiya-mukt’ (free of infiltrators) or not? Form a BJP government on the 5th and we will identify and expel each ‘ghuspaithiya’ (infiltrator) from across Bengal. Should they be removed or not? These ‘ghuspaithiya’ (infiltrators) are taking away jobs from our youth and consuming the grain meant for the poor. When the Election Commission conducts SIR and removes their names from the voter list, Mamata Banerjee protests. Once a BJP government is formed, we will go beyond SIR and remove each ‘ghuspaithiya’ (infiltrator). For years, these ‘ghuspaithiya’ (infiltrators) have committed atrocities against Bengal’s women. Narendra Modi built the Ram temple in Ayodhya, whereas Mamata Banerjee and her associate Humayun Kabir seek to build a Babri Masjid. Should a Babri Masjid be built? Mamata Banerjee, listen carefully, this land of Bengal is a part of India, and as long as even one BJP worker remains, Babri Masjid will not be allowed to be built here. Narendra Modi has freed the country from terrorism and Naxalism, form the lotus government in Bengal and we will free it from ‘ghuspaithiya’ (infiltrators).”

Key themes from a speech by a BJP leader during Amit Shah’s campaign rally: “Our future will be dark, and we will have no answer for future generations. There is demographic change in West Bengal and infiltration in the bordering regions. If you want to save West Bengal from ‘Bangladeshis’ and ‘infiltrators’, vote for the Lotus symbol.”
