In South 24 Parganas, Sukanta Majumdar Calls for a ‘Bengali Hindu Homeland’

Location: Baruipur, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal

BJP MP and Union Minister of State for Education Sukanta Majumdar, speaking at an election campaign, invoked his visit to Murshidabad during the violence that broke out amid protests against the Waqf Act, and termed the TMC a “jihadi vahini.” He also invoked Partition, asserting that Bengal needs to become a “Bengali Hindu homeland,” and claimed that Hindus are being forced to flee. He asked the audience whether they wanted to live in such a state, and said that the BJP aspires to create a governance model similar to Uttar Pradesh, where perpetrators of unrest would be punished and their houses bulldozed.
