Hindu nationalist supporters vandalised a mosque and hoisted a saffron flag atop it after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the mandate in the recent Assembly elections in the state. Locals alleged that a group of 15–20 men, armed with swords, threatened to attack Muslim women who questioned their actions.
