At Kailash Utsav-2026, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami fearmongered the demographic change, claiming that his government has been taking strict measures against it, including action on alleged religious conversions. Framing demographic shifts as a threat to the future and security of Uttarakhand, particularly in border areas, he cited the implementation of land laws and the use of AI-based monitoring mechanisms. He also highlighted the dissolution of the Madrasa Board, stating that only madrasas following the curriculum prescribed by recognised education boards would be permitted to operate in the state.
