In Dehradun, Bajrang Dal Targets Shopkeepers Over Alleged ‘Naam Jihad’

Location: Deep Nagar, Dehradun, Uttarakhand

Members of the VHP-Bajrang Dal, led by Aman Swedia, harassed shop owners accusing them of “naam jihad.” He urged people not to rent shops to Muslims, claiming that they rent shops only to indulge in “jihad,” following allegations of a girl eloping with a Muslim man. He alleged that they are funded by mosques, peddling the anti-Muslim conspiracy theories of “love jihad” and “thook jihad.” He forced them to remove the name banner, accusing them of concealing their identity using a “Hindu” name.
