At a foundation stone-laying ceremony, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted measures to protect the state’s demographic composition, citing West Bengal’s alleged “demographic imbalance.” He promoted the anti-Muslim conspiracy theories of “love jihad,” “land jihad,” and “thook jihad,” alongside anti-conversion measures, claiming strict action had been taken against what he described as a “mullawadi mentality.” Accusing the Opposition of appeasement and vote-bank politics, he stated that action was being taken against “jihadi” and “pakhandi” (hypocrites) individuals involved in religious conversion and warned they would be punished so severely that their “seven generations will remember.” Dhami claimed that action against “land jihad” had “freed” over 12,000 acres of government land and accused the Opposition of enabling demographic change through vote-bank politics. Referring to the Uniform Civil Code, he asserted that it would free women from practices such as polygamy, halala, iddat, and triple talaq. He further argued that the government was acting against a “divisive mentality” through the dissolution of the Madrasa Board and closure of over 250 alleged “illegal” madrasas accused of misleading children and promoting a “radical mindset.” Dhami also referenced “Operation Kalnemi” as a campaign targeting those harming “Sanatan Sanskriti,” again accusing Congress of opposing the initiative.
