Far-right monk Laxman Das Maharaj, speaking at a celebration of Nathuram Godse’s birth anniversary organised by Hindu Sena, asserted that their only oaths were that “all ‘Mulle’ must chant Ram” and that “remove the burqa and wear a saree– that is the woman of the country.” He declared that Muslim women who do not wear sarees would be sent to Pakistan by Hindu Sena. He further asserted that one must wear a saree and chant “Jai Shri Ram” in order to live in the country, and told those who wished to wear “caps” to go to Pakistan. He also declared that idols of Hindu deities would be found in every mosque that is demolished.
