The event was billed as an opportunity for him to connect with Australia’s fast-growing Indian diaspora, with a forecast audience of 25,000 gathering for an evening that would showcase local Indian artists and performers. Anthony Albanese also took the opportunity to court what is now Australia’s largest overseas-born population, building upon the foundation he had established by proclaiming “Modi is the Boss!” at a similar event in Sydney during Modi’s 2023 visit.
