Members of Hindu organisations, along with Shiv Sena activists from both the Shinde and Uddhav factions, staged a “Ghantanad Andolan” against the administration’s decision to allow Eid prayers at the Idgah near Kalyan’s historic Durgadi Fort while temporarily restricting entry of Hindu devotees to the temple inside the fort during Bakrid prayers. Authorities said the restrictions were imposed to maintain law and order and deployed heavy police personnel in and around the fort following the protests.
