The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation demolished 11 allegedly unauthorised religious structures, including five mosques, five temples, and an akhada, during a large-scale anti-encroachment drive. Violence broke out during the operation when a crowd pelted stones at officials and police personnel, injuring 19 people, including 18 police officers. More than 500 police personnel were deployed for the demolition, which authorities said was part of an ongoing drive against illegal constructions.
