In Chhatarpur, Dhirendra Shastri Promotes Multiple “Jihad” Conspiracies and Targets Interfaith Relationships

Location: Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh

Speaking at the “Sanatan ke Cyber Yoddha: National Influencers Meet” at Bageshwar Dham Peeth, far-right preacher Dhirendra Shastri promoted the anti-Muslim conspiracy theories of “love jihad,” “land jihad,” “mutra jihad,” and “thook jihad,” and claimed that new forms of jihad included “friend jihad” and “social media jihad.” He advised women to avoid interacting with unfamiliar men on platforms such as Instagram, alleging that “jihadis” save their profiles and impersonate Hindus to target them. He also gave the slogan, “Be Durga, be Kali, never be a Burqewali.”
