Authorities demolished four mosques and madrasas, alleging the structures were illegal encroachments on government, grazing, or agricultural land near India’s border with Pakistan. Officials carried out the demolitions under “Operation Clean” after serving notices to 17 mosques and madrasas; however, the Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) alleged that notices dated June 11 were served only on June 17, leaving little time to respond before some mosques were demolished the following day.
