At a Hindu Jagaran Manch office inauguration ceremony, Mithun Saha promoted the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad” and claimed that Muslim men conceal their identities and pretend to be Hindus to target Hindu girls on social media, get intimate with them, and blackmail them. He claimed that Muslims spit on biryani “to make it halal” and asked Hindus to use AI to check it for themselves. He criticised Hindus for eating halal meat despite having a pro-Hindu government. He called on attendees to stop Muslims from purchasing land from Hindus and claimed that Muslims are the masterminds behind the drug problem. Far-right Hindu monk Hironmoy Goswami accused Hindus of sleeping and claimed that they would face a similar fate as Hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Referring to the Ram Mandir, he claimed that Hindus had reclaimed one of their temples but that many still remained with the “jihadis.” He cited the Adina mosque in Malda, which Hindu nationalist supporters have been claiming to be the Adinath Temple.
