At a Ram Katha, BJP MLA Balmukund Acharya alleged that Hindus had been fighting efforts by the Mughals, the British, and the “children of Aurangzeb” to destroy Hinduism for centuries. He claimed that multiple forms of “jihad” continue today, alleging that “jihadis” lure Hindu women and girls and infiltrate Hindu households. He fearmongered about demographic change, alleging that “rakshas” and “vidharmis” would seize Hindu property through population growth, claiming they have “four wives and 36 children.” Criticising the “Hum Do, Hamara Ek” norm, he urged Hindus to have more children to protect their religion and culture.
