At a BJP public outreach event, BJP leader Dharmraj Verma peddled the anti-Muslim conspiracy theories of “love jihad,” “land jihad,” and alleged land encroachment through mazars and cemeteries, accusing Muslims of trapping Hindu women and illegally occupying land. Referring to alleged crimes involving Muslims, including an alleged case of kidnapping of a Hindu woman involving a “maulana,” he claimed that Muslims were exploiting Hindus. He further alleged that Muslims from neighbouring towns gathered to display their strength, asserting that under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s rule, even if Muslims made up 70% of an area, they could not threaten Hindus.
