Members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest and attempted to vandalise the gate of St. Xavier’s School over the teaching of Christian religious figures. When teachers responded that Hindu religious figures were also taught, the protesters questioned the absence of an idol of Saraswati on the school premises. They claimed that Christian religious figures were attackers in India and that their kings had “killed them like dogs.” The protesters also accused the school of receiving foreign funding to facilitate religious conversion, clashed with the police, and chanted slogans against “Christian missionaries.”
