At a programme organised at Ahilya Ashram School, BJP MLA Kailash Vijayvargiya peddled the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad,” alleging that Muslim men conceal their identities by adopting Hindu names such as “Ram” and “Shyam” to befriend Hindu girls and lure them into marriage, only to later reveal themselves as “vidharmis,” saying that “instead of Ram, they turn out to be Rehman.” He urged the young girls in attendance not to befriend boys and, if they did, to exercise caution.
