In Ghaziabad, Hindu Raksha Dal Leaders Call for “Religious War” and Promote “Love Jihad”

Location: Loni, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh

At a Hanuman Chalisa event organised by the Hindu Raksha Dal, leader Amit Prajapati claimed that some “jaahil” (ignorant) people tried to divide Hindus along caste lines to break their unity. He called on attendees to join the organisation in fighting a “dharm yudh” (religious war), contrasting Hindu caste divisions with what he described as the unity of Muslims under a single religion. He further claimed that the organisation fights “jihadis” and reunites women with their families.

Leader Sunny Bajrangi derogatorily referred to Muslims as “Kutub Minar wale” and “jihadis” and peddled the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad,” alleging that Muslim men “mindwash” Hindu girls and claiming that the organisation rescues Hindu women regardless of caste. He fearmongered about demographic change, claiming that Muslim men target Hindu women to increase the Muslim population. He further alleged that the Muslim population had grown in India while the Hindu population had declined in Pakistan and Bangladesh, and stated that if his speech amounted to incitement, it was “democratic incitement” intended to prevent Hindus from becoming “another Surya or Tarun Khatik.”
