Firdaus Alam, also known as Asjad Babu, a young man from Kairi Birpur village in Kochadhaman block of Bihar’s Kishanganj district, was brutally murdered in Flora Sector 29 of Panipat district, Haryana.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 7–8 PM on the evening of May 24 Saturday, when Asjad was on his way to meet a friend. During this time, a man identified as Shishu Lala knocked off Asjad’s skull cap. As Asjad bent down to pick it up, the accused struck him violently on the head with a stick. Asjad was critically injured and rushed to a hospital in Rohtak, where he succumbed to his injuries early the next morning.
Former Kochadhaman MLA Mujahid Alam has been actively involved since the news broke. He remained in contact with local residents, hospital authorities, and the police from the early hours of the morning. Initially, Asjad’s elder brother, father-in-law, and wife were hesitant to pursue legal action. However, after a conversation with his father-in-law, Rizwan Sahib—originally from Malda, West Bengal—Mujahid Alam convinced the family to register a formal complaint.
With the help of local residents, the accused was apprehended and handed over to the police at Flora Sector 29. Mujahid Alam is maintaining regular communication with Station House Officer Subhash Ji and senior police officials. He has assured the local Seemanchal community living in the area—who are deeply shaken by the incident—that all necessary support will be extended.
Masawwir Babu of Baliya Kashibari played a key role in coordinating efforts on the ground and remained in constant contact with Mujahid Alam throughout the ordeal.
A case has been registered at Flora Sector 29 Police Station under Case Number 288/2025, dated May 25, 2025, under Section 103(1). Police have begun reviewing CCTV footage from the crime scene as part of the investigation. Mujahid Alam has demanded that the accused be charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and face a speedy trial leading to the death penalty.
