At India-Bangladesh Border, Bengali Muslim Families Stranded After Alleged BSF Pushback Attempt

Location: India–Bangladesh Border, Jalpaiguri, West Bengal

Ten Bengali Muslim individuals, including multiple children, were left in the open at Joypur Zero Point along the international border for three days after the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) reportedly attempted to push them into Bangladesh, claiming them to be Bangladeshi citizens, but was stopped by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). The BSF brought them back to a holding centre in Jalpaiguri on June 8 after talks with the BGB failed.
