At a Hindu Raksha Samiti protest for Bangladeshi Hindus, BJP leader Navneet Rana made several inflammatory statements. She claimed that the Muslim population in Goa, which was only 2% when it was liberated, had mysteriously risen to 12%. She issued violent threats, saying, “If you cut us into two pieces, we will cut you into 35 pieces.” Rana also warned that if Hindus become extremists, they would not allow any Muslims, like Owaisi, to live in India. She called for the deportation of “alleged Bangladeshis” from West Bengal and asserted that while the original 2% of Muslims in Goa were peaceful, the rest, “alleged Bangladeshis,” were terrorizing the state.
Another far-right leader declared that the next ten years would involve a war against “jihadis,” fought not by the army, but by patriotic Hindus within the country. He encouraged attendees to keep weapons at home, and suggested getting licensed weapons if possible. The leader called for forming militias in every city and village in Goa, praising Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal for already taking such action. He further demonized Muslims, claiming they engage in religious conversions and violent acts like decapitating women and putting their bodies in suitcases.
