BJP legislator and Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Nitesh Rane delivered a provocative, incendiary speech at a Vishwa Hindu Parishad-Bajrang Dal event. He invoked history to incite hate against Muslims, accused “jihadis” of land encroachment, and repeatedly called Muslims “green snakes.” Supporting VHP-Bajrang Dal’s demand to demolish Aurangzeb’s tomb, he cited the Babri Masjid demolition and declared, “The government will do its part while Hindutva outfits must do theirs. When Babri Masjid was being demolished, we did not sit and talk to each other. Our karsevaks did what was appropriate.”
