The Nashik Municipal Corporation demolished a decades-old dargah, declared an illegal construction, just hours before the Supreme Court granted a stay on the demolition. The Court also issued a notice to the Corporation and scheduled a hearing for April 21. The demolition followed a night of clashes between stone-pelting protestors and city police, who deployed tear gas and lathi charges. At least 21 police personnel were injured, and three police vehicles were damaged. Police arrested 15 protestors, registered an FIR against 500 to 1,000 unknown individuals, and confiscated 70 two-wheelers.
