Ramdurg Police have registered case against unidentified people based on a complaint by a Dalit youth that he was assaulted during a village fair in Kunnal in Belagavi district.
In his complaint, Laxman Madar has said that he was beaten up by a group of five-six people when he questioned why they were trying to forcibly throw coloured water on women from his family.
“The victim received some injuries and was admitted to hospital. He is recovering. Investigation is on to identify and apprehend the accused,” Additional Superintendent of Police Ramagonda Basaragi said.
