A female government doctor in North Kashmir’s Bandipura has been suspended for not attending the Independence Day event.
The suspension order was issued by the Chief Medical Office (CMO). It stated that Sabia Salam who is a medical Officer at District Hospital Bandipura failed to report for her scheduled duty on August 14 which “ adversely affected patients.”
“On August 15, Dr Salam did not participate in the Independence Day celebrations without informing,” adds the letter noting that it is a “disrespect and disregard for the National event.”
Imposing the Rule 31 of the Jammu & Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control, and appeal) Rules, 1956 alongside Article 128 of the J & K Civil Service Regulations, the CMO stated that Salam has been suspended from her duty immediately and an enquiry will be made soon.
