Shortly after two foreign journalists — Vanessa Dougnac and Avani Dias — exited India owing to permit refusals, French journalist Sébastien Farcis, who was the India correspondent for Radio France Internationale and Libération, has alleged that he was forced to leave the country as authorities declined to renew his journalist permit.

This comes four months after Dougnac — also a French journalist — had stated that she was “forced to leave India”. Like Dougnac, Farcis has Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) status.
