Dispute Over Ration Led to Assault

In her complaint, Neetu Devi, wife of Jitendra Pal, said she had gone to a local ration shop to collect her entitlement when a dispute broke out over being given less ration.

“When I objected to receiving less ration, they became angry and started beating me,” she alleged.

She named Premchand alias Karua and Sonu as the main accused, adding that they were joined by others during the incident.

Allegations of Caste Abuse and Threats

The victim alleged that the accused surrounded her and used casteist slurs in public, including calling her “Chamaria.”

She further claimed that the accused issued serious threats. “They said if I complain anywhere, they will shoot me and my entire family,” she stated in her complaint.

According to the complaint, the accused belong to a dominant group in the village, while the victim is from a Scheduled Caste community.

Police Register Case, Probe Underway

Station House Officer Hemant Mavi confirmed that a case has been registered.

“Police have taken cognisance of the complaint and further action is being taken,” he said.

The victim has appealed to the authorities for strict action against the accused and sought protection for her family.
