During a protest meeting against incidents of violence during an anti-Waqf Act demonstration, Hindu nationalist Suraj Kumar Singh targeted Muslims who had offered sharbat and chairs to participants during Ram Navami processions. He remarked that they “didn’t know it would cost Hindus so much.” He further claimed that peace prevails only because Hindus choose to remain peaceful, warning that no one would be able to stop them the day they take to the streets chanting war cries in the name of their gods, and asserted that such a day was not far off.
