Members of Hindu nationalist organisations vandalised several shops and carts run by Muslims and assaulted the workers. The attack took place following a protest rally held in response to the killing of tourists in Pahalgam. During the attack, the assailants also chanted slogans such as “Apply Dabur’s oil and erase Babur’s name” and raised slogans with threats of sexual violence.
