Pandit Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham has reacted strongly to news of ‘Babri Masjid’ being built in Murshidabad, West Bengal. He said Hindus across the country are ready to respond, recalling the 1992 Ayodhya incident. Shastri also made a new announcement about visiting Mathura’s Krishna Janmabhoomi soon.

Krishna Janmabhoomi visit announced

Shastri gave a new slogan, saying: “Krishna Lala will come, will eat butter and sugar candy.” He added that he will recite Hanuman Chalisa near Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi. The priest did not reveal the exact date for this event. In November, he undertook a foot march to Mathura via Delhi and Haryana.

Strong reaction to Babri Masjid in Bengal

Shastri condemned the plan to rebuild Babri Masjid in Murshidabad. He said, “If attempts are made to rebuild Babri Masjid, it is unfortunate. But Hindus are ready to repeat 1992 if needed.” He called Babri Masjid a conspiracy by foreign invaders against Hindus and criticised people spreading communal frenzy.

Remarks at Mumbai Press Conference

At a press conference in Mumbai, Shastri said: “When Ram Temple was built in Ayodhya, some criticised it, saying a hospital should have been built instead. Now, attempts are being made to build Babri Masjid in Bengal. Those speaking against Hindus from Bengal to Kashmir will soon get a befitting reply.”

He added: “As long as we live, we will live for Hindus, Hindutva, and Hindustan.”
