In Jharkhand’s Kalindi Basti, Jamshedpur, BJP leader Gunjan Yadav, accompanied by a group of Hindu nationalists, led a raid on a Christian family’s home on Sunday, accusing them of carrying out religious conversions.

Acting on their complaint, local police detained 12 individuals and seized Bibles and other religious materials as evidence, which were subsequently sealed by the authorities.

The incident stemmed from a program being held in a rented house in Kalindi Basti of Sitaramdera, which sparked chaos after a group informed Gunjan Yadav, former district president of BJP Jamshedpur Mahanagar.

Alleging religious conversion activities, they created an uproar and questioned those present about their activities. Slogans were raised, and a protest was staged at the site.

Local leaders including Amit Agrawal, Vikas Bauri, Shishir Kalindi, Dilip Paswan, and Umesh Saw were also present during the protest.

Upon receiving the information, police arrived with a team and pacified the agitated crowd. Sitaramdera Police Station in-charge Niranjan Kumar reached the scene with additional forces and brought the situation under control. He questioned 12 people involved in the program and took them to the police station.

Locals claimed that similar gatherings had been taking place every Sunday evening in the same rented house, often continuing late into the night.
