Hyderabad: Far-right Hindutva extremist group Bajrang Dal allegedly attacked a Muslim family in Nizamabad’s Sirnapally village in Telangana. A large group of 50-60 swords-wielding people affiliated with the organization, affiliated to RSS, brutally attacked the four members of the family a day after Eid, Siasat reported.
Those attacked were identified as Ahmed Ullah Khan, his wife Rizwana Begum, and their sons Mohammed Majid Khan and Aman Khan.
According to Mohammed Majid Khan, who spoke to Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjedullah Khan on a call, he was falsely implicated under the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) over alleged misbehaviour towards a minor girl. In this case, he was jailed for three months, too.
After he was accused, the local village development committee (VDC) passed a resolution ostracizing him and his brother from the village and allowing only their parents to stay there. After this, the two brothers started working as painters in Kamareddy.
It was when they visited their parents on the occasion of Bakrid that the family got attacked by a mob of 50 to 60 people around 8:00 in the evening. The sword-wielding mob barged into their home and brutally assaulted the family, leaving Majid and his father, Ahmed Ullah Khan, with head injuries, his mother, Rizwana Begum, with torn clothes, and the brother injured. The crowd also attacked Majid’s sister and her family, including children.
Majid himself named the attackers Bajrang Dal while speaking to Amjedullah Khan. The injured are currently hospitalized in Nizamabad Government Hospital.
