At a Hindu Janakrosh Morcha against “love jihad” and religious conversion organised by Sakal Hindu Samaj, NCP MLA Sangram Jagtap communalised a suicide case involving a Muslim man and a Hindu woman, demonised Muslims by linking them to terrorism, and claimed that all Muslims were responsible for crimes committed by other Muslims. He called for the social and economic boycott of the accused’s family, demanded that they be expelled from the village, urged the cancellation of their ration cards, and told the audience not to concern themselves with law and order. At the same event, Shri Ram Sangh president Sagar Baig encouraged vigilantism in the name of Hindutva and assured attendees that his organisation would bear the legal expenses of those facing cases for such actions.
