BJP leader and Supreme Court lawyer Ashwini Upadhyay spread conspiracies of “love jihad” and “land jihad,” fearmongered about infiltration and religious conversions, claimed Muslim gynaecologists and doctors harm Hindu patients and allegedly sterilise women and circumcise children in Uttar Pradesh without consent, demanded the shutdown of madrassas by saying, “Gurukul makes humans; madrassa makes devils”, and compared alleged infiltrators to dogs.
