At a public meeting, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted his government’s measures to preserve the state’s “original identity” and its “cultural and demographic composition,” including laws against religious conversion. He promoted the anti-Muslim conspiracy theories of “mazar jihad,” “love jihad,” “land jihad,” and “thook jihad,” and claimed that strict action was being taken against what he described as “mullawadi” and “kattar” tendencies. He asserted that action against “land jihad” had resulted in “freeing” over 12,000 acres of government land from “land jihadis,” claiming that the Opposition opposed such measures. He further accused the Opposition of disrupting the state’s demography through vote-bank politics by allowing the settlement of people from a “special community.” He defended the Uniform Civil Code, claiming it would free women from practices such as “halala,” “iddat,” and “triple talaq.” Dhami also highlighted the closure of over 250 allegedly “illegal” madrasas and the dissolution of the Madrasa Board, accusing such institutions of promoting a “jihadi” and “separatist” mentality. Referring to “Operation Kalnemi,” he further claimed that action was being taken against alleged “pakhandi” (hypocrites), “vidharmi,” and “ghuspaithiya” (infiltrators) who conceal their identities and defame Sanatan Dharma.
